Meet Enyo & Etienne, who were married in Spring 2021 at Palm Valley in Goodyear (AZ). This couple was a joy to work alongside every step of their journey. We loved how they intertwined elements from their faith and heritage, and then wrapped it all up with stunning colors of dusty blues and creams with rose gold accents. Each detail was carefully chosen to complement the breathtaking mountain views that captured the hearts of the bride and groom. As we recall this memorable day, please join us. . .

WEDDING PLANNING

We met the happy couple for the first time in November 2020, less than six months before their wedding day. After a 12-hour hike up Pioneer Peak in Alaska, they had just got engaged and wanted to include mountain views as part of their wedding venue. They loved Colorado because it reminded them so much of Alaska, but they settled for Arizona because it was closer to their family and made it easy for guests from all over the country.

“I looked at so many places.” Enyo said that they looked at many venues, but the stunning views from Palm Valley sealed the deal. It was crucial that Etienne, who will be deployed in the summer 2021, found a partner for their wedding planning. They could easily plan and host a short term wedding. We were able to help. . . The couple enjoyed the ease of our all-inclusive packages that were easy to customize. They also saved money by choosing a Thursday date that was convenient for them.

“I would tell a bride to give the same advice: Everything will turn out beautifully, regardless of how difficult or short-sighted it may seem. Etienne and my husband, I knew that the most important thing was our marriage and the coming together of our families.

WEDDING FASHION

Enyo was born in Nigeria, and has always wanted to include Nigerian culture into her wedding. The couple had their celebratory outfits made using boldly patterned fabric from Nigeria. These would be worn at the rehearsal. It was an immediate YES to the red and white combination. These colors contrast beautifully with the cool blues of the wedding colors.

Both the bride and the groom chose modern, simple attire for their wedding day. Enyo wore a beautiful white gown with a pearl belt, veil, and Enyo wore a dark blue suit with brown leather accents. Etienne wore a smart light blue suit with brown leather accents. To coordinate with the decor, the parents of the bride-groom had their outfits made from Nigerian fabrics in a range of blue-toned colors. For the ladies, the wedding party wore matching blue dresses and for the gentlemen, gray slacks with a pair of leather suspenders.

TRADITIONS AND CEREMONIES

Weddings are all about tradition and this celebration embraced both old and new traditions. Enyo and Etienne began their wedding day with a romantic first glance and private vow ceremony.

“Etienne told me that he tried to keep his tears from bursting during that time. An inside joke we had was that I had told him that he could not cry, because then I would. . . It was an unforgettable moment for us both.

DINNER & DANCING

After the cocktail hour, guests moved into the modern ballroom. The couple went for sunset portraits in the cactus gardens. The cheerful blue and white arrangements of alstroemeria and delphinium, as well as Queen Anne’s Lace, adorned the room. From start to finish, the entire evening was remarkable. It was a joy to be able to bring this day of celebration to life. We were also thrilled with the way that the wedding venue came to life.
